Following this presentation, participants will be able to:

  1. Describe the common symptoms and clinical characteristics of Tourette Syndrome
  2. Describe examples of how environmental events impact tics
  3. Summarize the current state of evidence regarding non-pharmacological interventions for tics
  4. Describe the CBIT protocol for tic management
Cost

$25.00 (includes continental breakfast and lunch); there will be a $60.00 fee for CE for non-PBTA professional members. Members receive free CE as a benefit of membership. (Sorry, no refunds. Pre-registration is required by 1/20/14.)

About Dr. Woods
Douglas W. Woods received his Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Western Michigan University in 1999. Dr. Woods is currently Professor and Head of the Psychology Department at Texas A&M University.  Dr. Woods sits on the editorial board of multiple psychology journals.  He is co-chair of the Tourette Syndrome Association’s Medical Advisory Board, serves on the Scientific Advisory Board of the Trichotillomania Learning Center, and is an advisor to the OC-spectrum workgroup for DSM-V and member of the OC-spectrum ICD-11 revision committee.  He has authored or co-authored over 180 papers or chapters, and authored or co-authored 9 books on Tic Disorders, Trichotillomania, and other repetitive behavior problems, and one on behavior analytic accounts of psychopathology.  Dr. Woods has received over $2.5 million dollars in extramural funding from the NIMH, TSA Grants program, and Trichotillomania Learning Center Grants program.

This presentation is intended for mental health professionals, researchers, and graduate students. The instructional level of this presentation is introductory.
